G.C.Building Department is committed to doing all it can to inform the consumer about illegal contractors by educating the public. Watch for warning signs and make sure the company you hire 

has a valid contractor license, insurance and can provide you with legitimate references.

According to Florida Statute 455.228, if you are asked to pull a building permit by the contractor you hire (for work requiring a building permit) "that means you assume all responsibilities of the contractor." 


The Department of Business & Professional Regulations (D.B.P.R.) may issue a cease and desist order for non compliance and also have further penalties imposed.
